Static Grass Demo

Richard is demonstrating the application of static grass on our shunting layout Nene Sidings. After many years appearing at exhibitions and attending visits to care homes it has been looking a little tired of late. Some members had not seen how to or used static grass previously so were pleased to have opportunity to turn their hand at it.

Here is Steve using PVA glue as a base to fill in the gap with ballast between the wall and track on Ardgowan. The dark red stone is from the local quarry which the narrow gauge railway transports to awaiting ships for onward distribution.

Alan continues working on the small boat for the harbour.

James looking rather pensive while waiting for the glue to dry during his build of layout baseboards from Scale Model Scenery. The units are designed to fit into a strong plastic container made by 'Really Useful Storage Boxes' Company and provides good protection from knocks and dust.

Daves' ongoing castle entrance archway is making good progress with the 3D printed portcullis kindly printed by Richard.

Peter and Dave continue with the planning and design of a new club layout.

I am assured the hands belong to George who is busy constructing a coaling stage from scratch for the club's O gauge layout.
