Steve & Jason preparing Fenton St Clare for our exhibition on 9th March 2024. The 7mm O narrow gauge layout was made by Roly Woodrow to support the British Legion and help raise funds for Servicemen at numerous events. Roly had been our enthusiastic Exhibition Manager and Chairman until his untimely passing away just before his retirement.
The ARP Warden whilst overseeing the examination of newly packed crates full of armaments for dispatch warns people to keep clear of an unexploded bomb in the coal staithes. There are a number of small cameo scenes in this 7mm Narrow Gauge wartime themed layout.
Now photos of the eclectic trains and scales modelled by our members running on the test track.
From Jerry a rare find of a German Trix H0 loco & coaches together with a map on back of box of the route followed.
Jerry's next little gem being given an outing
Two diesels from Trevor who picked up five Lima locos that had only been on display and in pristine condition at an auction for a bargain price although couplings had been changed on one. First a Class 47 LNER 47522 'Doncaster Enterprise' in unusual green shade.
Steve F had his Bachmann BR Green 6937 'Conyngham Hall with late crest and four coaches sprinting around the track for a while.
Locos being placed and run on test track so fast I was unable to recall all the details behind their purchases so here are the photos.................. Apologies for quality - shaky hand!!!
Finally we have Steve P who is obeying doctors orders by finding something relaxing to occupy his convalescence. Steve chose to clean & paint up some donkeys years old Airfix platform figures he picked up cheap. Remember the ones where paint refused to stick to the type of plastic used? Good luck mate.... :)
Finally don't forget our exhibition on March 9th. Hope to meet you there.
